Anticipating the New Version

The online community went up for the first time in February of this year. And, in the months since then it's become more and more deeply engrained in how we imagine the system and the overall user experience. This week, one of the things we've been doing is gearing up to begin linking to Looking Glass from a few of the external sites. While we've been so much in development, hiding from the world a bit seemed like the right thing to do. But, it's exciting to see that and feel it changing.

This week we Jordana pushed the new community look and feel, which among other things includes tag and search support for the first time. Kyle and I are in the process of putting a first taste of automatically generated tutorials into mainline. Over the summer, we reworked the code exploration and remix processes and those are in what will be the new release.  It was really exciting to see the first time we could do any sort of end to end use of the community. It feels like we're nearing another one of those points.

It's been a bit of a fractured week for many of us, myself included. But I'm really looking forward to putting a new version out there.
