Data Analysis

While I worked a bit on data analysis last week, by labeling and categorizing the structure of the rules mentors wrote, this week, Caitlin and I got into the meat of the quality of suggestions and rules.

Though we are not nearly done with the whole process (once we have the categories, we have to go back through all of the data to ensure that we have each rule in it's correct place), I think the categories we have so far are going to be really helpful in understanding what mentors are likely to do and how we need to design the interface in order to end up with educational, general suggestions and rules that effectively determine which students receive the suggestions.

From our initial categorizations of code quality, most of the rules could use improvement, but I think most of the rules have the potential to be correct, with some help from a community of mentors (how is TBD).
