... And We're Back

After taking a relaxing couple of weeks off, I’m back in the swing of things at the Looking Glass lab. The summer was a lot of fun, but a whole bunch of things were put together very quickly. So, I’m taking this week to re-examine the code I wrote over the summer and decide what I do and do not want to keep. As I do so, I’m trying to take copious notes about what needs to be fixed and what more needs to happen.
Why the fuss? Well, this semester’s goal is to make badges a reality on the Community side. In order to do so, II will be working closely with Jordana. After I finish transferring my code and making sure it is in a stable place, I will jump back into design mode.
Over the summer, it came to my attention that the badge colors and remix rings may make it hard for the users to easily distinguish which level they are on. I want to play around with the design a bit to see if I can fix that problem. So ideas that I will look into are: choosing more contrasting colors, using ribbons to represent remix instead of rings, and coloring just the mushrooms instead of the whole badge.
I also want to think about how the badge main and info pages should look so that they will actually be helpful for the user.
Get excited for some more sketches in the near future!

<p>btw... I think ribbons will have a lot of promise. Plus... for some reason it makes more sense... even though I don't know why.</p>
